Google Redirect

Had two computers in the past two days with a Google Redirect “virus” where all Google search links redirected to crazy places.  Turns out that there is a file wdmuad in the windows\system32 directory (about 25k in size) and a modified atapi.sys file in windows\system32\drivers.   So I deleted the wdmaud and restored the atapi.sys from the Windows XP CD and the problem was solved.  Was it fun figuring that out?  Kinda.
