Office 2010 – Delete All

OK a bit more playing and there are a few small thing that I have found in Office 2010.  I actually went and read a bunch of reviews but they didn’t give me anything useful to me.  First thing is right click on a folder in Outlook and get the option – Delete All.  After syncing my Outlook 2010 with my Hotmail account I thought about the options you get in Office 2007 in the Junk folder and Deleted Items folder (Empty Folder).  The Delete All is available in all the folders – even the Inbox.  After finding that I am surprised it was not mentioned in the articles I read – I know I cannot be the only one who deletes entire folder contents or it would not be a feature.

Second (and something I did read about) is the ability to link YouTube videos into your PowerPoint presentation.  Kara does presentations all the time for Relay For Life trainings and as a teacher.  This past year there were a few YouTube videos we needed in the PowerPoint which required downloading the video as a certain type of file and embedding it.  No more.  Now you just embed it straight from the site.

As I am a crazed Outlook person, I will go back to Outlook.  There is a “Team Email” button which appears to be along the lines of groups but it saved the team in the ribbon.  Oh yeah Outlook 2010 has the ribbon.  Yes Office 2007 had the ribbon in most of the products but Outlook did not.  It does have the ribbon now which means it took a few seconds to find “Tools/Options”.

So Tools/Options.  You remember when you wanted to do something in Outlook 2007 or earlier.  Tools/Options, Preferences, Email Options, Advanced Email Options, Desktop Alert Settings.  I mean will the buttons NEVER end.  Now there are significantly fewer buttons to click – File/Options.  That will be a relief in support.

Hmmm.  I still have some playing to do but that is what I found last night.
